Firebreak wildfire residential fire prevention spray systems

If you live in an area that is threatened by wildfires you need a Wildfire Protection System . Now, there's a portable system that uses the same fire retardant sprayed out of firefighting air tankers, with one important difference: no red dye. This colorless product is a proprietary formula of the well known and time-tested fire retardant Phos-Chek

Phos-chek is not a firefighting foam or gel Phos-Chek Retardant
Suppressants, such as foam and gel, rely solely on their contained water as the active ingredient to suppress fire. Once the water evaporates from these products, either by the heat of the sun, or heat from a wildfire, they can no longer stop a fire's progress.
Phos-Chek long-term retardant, on the other hand, does not rely on contained water to stop fires. It is applied as a solution containing water only to allow it to be spread on potential fuel areas. Phos-Chek was designed specifically to protect fuels containing cellulose such as wood, paper, grass and trees. When the diluted retardant is spread it can remain effective for weeks or even months until it is washed off by a stream of water or a moderate rainstorm.

Firebreak clear liquid fire retardantWhat makes Phos-Chek unique is its ability to remain in place and active for prolonged periods of time, unlike many other products found on the market.

Home Protection System
Two-Step plan for protecting your property.
1. Set up a defensible perimeter around your home. Clear brush, dead grass and woody material at least 100 feet from your home. Many fire services recommend a wider clear space around your home. The perimeter may be increased by pretreating the surrounding area with the Phos-Chek retardant. The Phos-Chek retardant will stay in place until it is washed off.

2. In a fire emergency, when the threat of wildfire is imminent, Firebreak retardant may be sprayed on landscaped areas, wooden structures, decks, fences, etc. Always remember to wash the retardant off these areas after the threat has passed.

The Phos-Chek retardant used in a Wildfire Protection System does not contain the gum, resin or red dye that the retardant of a bomber does. Other than deterring the spread of fire, Phos-Chek retardant acts as a low-grade fertilizer.

The retardant itself is well tested, but it's not the end all. Homeowners still must follow fire-wise practices and reduce the fuel load around houses. The Wildfire Protection System is one more tool we can use for wildfire prevention.
